What if spam sneaks through?

Our algorithm is always learning how to best classify messages. Despite our best efforts there’s still a chance a bad message gets through. In those cases we provide the ability to adjust your spam thresholds AND report spam messages that may have slipped by so that our system can watch out for similar messages in the future.

What if a legitimate message is blocked?

False positives happen but we’re ready to help with them. If a real message gets flagged as spam, you can immediately send it through via the delivery log panel in your site. You can also let us know about the false positive from within the panel and we’ll use this data to further train our system.

Will this slow down my website?

No. Instead of filtering messages in real-time (and making the user wait for a server response), we immediately post your message data through to our servers and allow the visitor to go on browsing your site.

Then behind the scenes we run all the necessary checks to generate the message’s spam score. Once the score is identified, it’s delivered back to your site and the Spammunition plugin decides what to do with the message based on your unique configuration.

If anything, this asyncronous message delivery will actually make your site feelÂ faster for visitors submitting user-generated content to the site.

How does Spammunition identify spam?

We use a variety of factors to score each message. Similar to the way a teacher grades a test, we add up the cumulative score and report that back to your website. The settings within the Spammunition plugin on your site then determine how the message is handled.

How does Spammunition work with ANY contact form plugin?

Instead of hooking into your contact form, our plugin filters messages out as they are processed through wp_mail. This allows us to intercept messages from any properly-coded plugin or theme and allow Spammunition to score them before they’re sent.
